TME's TOP PICKS: Mama Clothing Brands

Sometimes a mama just needs to treat herself. Be it a nice bottle of wine, a bar of chocolate, or in my case a new jumper to make myself feel a little bit better on those grey days. And have no fear, there have been a plethora of new brands to jump on the mama fashion bandwagon and launch clothes aimed at the fashionable or just plain proud mama/mutha/mere/mother (delete as appropriate).

This brand has got a cult following and its success will mean you’ll even find Selfish Mother jumpers in John Lewis. From mama and mother branded jumpers and t-shirts in a variety of colours and styles (my fave is the super soft jumpers), there is also clothing designed for dads and the children too. And if that wasn't all, part of the proceeds go to charity. That gets a big thumbs up from TME!

No branded mama or mother jumpers here, instead you’ll find adult version of the jumpers they’ve designed for children. Twinning a-go-go, but even for those who don’t want to twin, the jumpers they sell are just damn cool. Our faves from Scamp and Dude include the range of lightning and leopard print jumpers (see below). The story behind the brand launched by Jo is heartbreaking but also touching, do check their website out to find out more.

For those parents who see the lighter side of life, Parent Apparel’s clothing range is amusing and stylish. With eye-catching designs – “gin and on it”, or “game of moans” anyone? – the brand aims to inject some humour into everyday parenting.

For those doubtful that they are mothering like a boss, one of Mutha hood’s jumpers or tshirts may give you that added confidence. Whether you are Team Strong Girls Club or Solidarite Feminine, this range is all about empowering mums. Plus the jumpers are super comfy.

We love Leanne's range of Mama jumpers and t-shirts which come in a variety of styles, from Breton, to plain colours to a dash of colour. She also does a great range of clutches too, which can double-up as nappy pouches!
