TRIED & RESTED: The Pig (near Bath)

THE PLACE:

The Pig, Near Bath

THE GIST:

Decadent and dreamy pretty much sums up a recent stay we had at The Pig. Truly scrumptious food (one of the main pulls of The Pig) set in a beautiful English country manor house on the outskirts of Bath. This was our first getaway as a family in the UK, so I was a little nervous at how things would go, however from the initial booking, the staff at The Pig were wonderful and very helpful with this mama navigating her way through things you need to remember with a four-month-old baby in tow.

THE HIGHLIGHTS:

The Pig is known for its food, so it is no surprise that this was one of the biggest highlights but it really was! Crispy Pig Ears with Apple Sauce and the Brock Eggs with Colman's Sauce are two dishes not to be missed. As we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary, a really lovely surprise addition were some cute ‘pig’ anniversary biscuits that our waiter appeared with at the end of our meal - a complete surprise and lovely touch. The amazing breakfast selection was another foodie highlight - cooked, buffet and fresh, we wanted (and probably ended up consuming) everything on the table!

THE NIGGLES:

An additional mattress for the cot would have been perfect as the one provided was quite thin, so we had to find other things to pad this out for Emilia to sleep on.

THE DAMAGE:

£175 for a snug room

TOP TIP:

The hotel will sterilise any bottles/ equipment needed for your baby so no need to take a steraliser with you! Result!

THE VERDICT:

8 / 10

We would highly recommend this hotel for any new parents wanting a night away with or without baby in tow!
