Bustling town - Kingston upon Thames in South West London is a thriving area for families and offers lots of options for getting out and about with a baby and meet-up with friends over coffee. Right on the river, Kingston has lots of lovely pram-friendly walks, both along the riverside and in nearby spots such as Bushy or Richmond Park, the perfect remedy for a fussy baby, or a fuzzy head after a night of broken sleep. Talking of which - here are our favourite Kingston coffee spots to get that all-important caffeine fix.
1) The Boaters Inn
Perfect spot in the summer months for coffee or lunch with your fellow mamas. Located right on the river, and with a large outdoor area, The Boaters Inn is a great option for larger groups to meet. Lots of room for buggies and they do a mean fish and chips!
2) Department of Coffee and Social Affairs
Independent coffee shop that serves a great selection of coffee (arguably the best caffeine hit in Kingston) teas and cakes. Due to the space inside Department of Coffee and Social Affairs, smaller groups would work better and the downside is there are no baby changing facilities. If the weather is decent though why not grab a coffee on-the-go and take a wander along the river instead.

3) Boho Café
Hidden gem within the suburbs of Kingston. Serving homemade cakes, teas and Fairtrade coffee. With a play area for children and a buggy park, this is simply made for mums! Smaller groups work better here and if the sun's out there's some outside seating so take full advantage.
4) Wags N Tails
Baby and dog friendly spacious cafe in Surbiton, serving cafe treats for mamas and their pooches (including special cupcakes for canines)!! A spacious area for groups and baby changing facilities got it the paw print of approval from us. Woof!

5) The Grove
Expect to see lots of other mamas and their offspring at this popular gastropub. With lift access to help make the outside steps easier to manage with a pram, a large space inside and large beer garden outside, this is a popular choice for families in Kingston and Surbiton. There's a pleasant lunch menu with nice coffee plus the size of the pub means that even if your little one decides that this is the perfect place to have the mother of all meltdowns, you won’t be disturbing other customers. Great location for a cosy lunch catch-up.
