TME'S TOP PICKS: Baby Play Gyms

Play gyms. They are another one of those essential baby purchases which you have to look at for hours every day. Two years ago when I was searching for a stylish one that wouldn’t offend my eyes I really struggled. But it seems that there are way more options now for a cool baby gym that isn’t plastic and brightly coloured. Here’s some of TME’s faves that we’ve come across. We've included suggestions of where you can buy but it's always worth shopping around to make sure you get the best deal.

This Bristol-based company makes a range of pastel coloured teething toys that embody Scandi chic, but it is their play gym that really caught TME’s eye (see above pic). Made out of wood, with a number of their teething toys hanging down, it is simple and stylish, and will go well with any play mat. Currently available for pre-order through The nursery edit for £90.

This stylish grey activity play gym looks super comfy with a thick padded mat that comes with five activity toys. Will look perfect in any decor. Comes in blue and blush too. £92 from Daisies and Dinosaurs (see below)

This is another classic wooden play gym, made in Denmark, which you can buy on its own or with a selection of five toys. Beautiful and good quality it gets a big thumbs up from us.

Priced at £130 and available from The Modern Nursery.

This is another cool Scandi brand that offers an on-trend,modern play gym, available in off-white or mint (see below). At a more affordable price of £64.95 it ticks all the boxes. Available from Scandi Born

If you feel mum guilt at just opting for a play gym that you like the look of rather than one that is the most stimulating for you baby, then look no further, Mokee’s mini baby gym combines both. It’s a stylish wooden frame that has four hanging toys in black and white to keep your baby stimulated. Also comes at a good price of £59.95 (see gym at bottom right of pic).

The pod from sleepyhead has long been a mum’s fave for helping their babies sleep so we were pleased when the brand came up with its own baby gym arc to add to it. And it looks cool too. The arch costs about £22 (see below), while the toys will cost you between £20-£22. Can be bought from Scandi Born.

Another classic wooden design, this birch baby gym from Finn & Emma comes with wooden and knitted hanging down toys. We like its simplistic chic style. Birch play gym £105 available from Not On The High Street

For those that love a bit of animal magic, but maybe in more subtle colours, then Skip Hop’s Camping Cubs activity gym could be perfect for you. A more classic play gym that comes with a mat too. Costs £75 from Kidly
