TRIED AND TASTED: The Corner House

THE PLACE: The Corner House, Brook Green, London

THE GIST:

A stylish space in Brook Green, London for brunch meets and coffee catch-ups with or without children in tow. With a delicious deli, restaurant, children's play area and studio spaces for both adult and baby classes, The Corner House is quite unique its offering.

THE HIGHLIGHTS:

We started our visit trying out one of the baby classes that are on offer and Baby Sensory did not disappoint. Run by Vicky, we experienced an hour of pure baby bliss. Underwater themed, there were giant paddling pools for the babies to splash in, an under-the-sea blue woven cover with hidden fish, crabs and jellyfish for the babies to touch and interact with, singing, music and free time for the babies to play with toys. Infants up until the age of 13 months can attend, and there are toys that cater for tiny little ones right through to toddlers. Sign us up for the next class!

Next up was a delicious brunch. We had the Shakshuka, avocado on toast with a poached egg, green juices and coffee. But with such a varied brunch menu, we will be back to sample the other dishes soon! All the staff were really accommodating towards us with two babies in tow and with other children in the restaurant, it ticked all the child-friendly boxes.

THE NIGGLES:

We had our visit during the Easter school holidays so the play area downstairs was really busy. I would recommend going during term time if you're not yet a slave to the school hols. Once you are downstairs though, this is a cafe where you can sit and enjoy a drink whilst your little ones burn off some energy. The area is so much nicer than any soft play we have seen before and again different toys/ imaginative play for children to enjoy.

THE DAMAGE:

Brunch for two with coffee and service is around £30. Given the location and quality of the food/ coffee, this was a really competitive price.

TOP TIP:

The baby classes are really popular, and have regulars who attend most weeks, so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment. In addition there is a buggy park outside the cafe, so park up and take your bits and pieces in with you as all the children's facilities are located downstairs and there isn't a lift.

THE VERDICT: 8/10

A venue where you're more than happy to kill a few hours, in a lovely setting with good food, coffee and entertainment for the little ones.

Opening Times:

Mon- Fri 7:30am-6pm

Sat-Sun 8:30am-6pm
